Diving Fun Fact

Mola Mola, Bali, Indonesia

The Oceanic Mola (Mola mola) is the world's heaviest bony fish with adults weighing between 550 and 2,200 lbs, which is especially impressive considering their diet consists mainly of jellyfish. Females can lay 300,000,000 eggs at a time, more than any other vertebrate. Each year from August to October the mola molas visit the shores of Bali, where we took this photo, to have the parasites cleaned from their mouth and gills by schooling bannerfish and emperor angelfish.
