Diving Fun Fact
Our dive guide Ipan spotted this Tenellia Sibogae Nudibranch during our dive at Deep Water Corner in South Lombok. Nudibranchs, also called “sea slugs,” are known for their vivid colors and patterns. Though they are fascinating to look at, nudibranchs can be dangerous and even deadly if consumed by predators. Some nudibranch are able to generate their own toxic defense, while others take on the venom from the stinging cells of the coral they consume. The most dangerous nudibranchs fill their gut with air, allowing them to float along and nibble on such deadly creatures as Man o’ War whose toxins they ingest.
